During the week it is so hard to find time to post. I run out of day, before I finish everything I want to accomplish. This year I have been on the Design Team for Carolina Memories (the place to find everything you need for scrapbooking, stamping, and a variety of other paper crafts. Each month we are asked to create projects that help demonstrate the store's products. I ran short of time in September, so quickly put together these Halloween cards. It is really hard to believe that we are already well into October, since the weather continues to be well into the 80's. Saturday was my son's quarter century birthday!! I contributed to the cost of a new computer for birthday (and Christmas) after his died. I still wanted to pick up a few little things for him to open on his birthday: Some imported Cadbury chocolates; a pumpkin and tools for carving; a chamois window clearer for his car; and the big find was memo pads, mouse pad, and pens featuring The Office (one of my son's favorite shows) that I stumbled on in the dollar section at Target. He loved them.
This afternoon, I saw the play: The Miss Firecracker Contest put on by the Spice and Ghost Theatre Company. If you live in the Triangle area treat yourself to an intimate theatre experience that is both warm and funny. The play will be presented for two more weekends at Common Ground Theatre located in Durham. During the intermission the two children in attendance were studying the posters on the bulletin board. I overheard the younger one (probably about 8) explaining the plot of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night!
My crafting this weekend was limited to sewing some bean bags for work. Quick and easy, I made these while listening to NPR's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me, such a gem of a show that often has me laughing out loud.
